To celebrate the transition from The Boroughs Store to W.P.S.C we have produced a new small batch of traditional four pocket chore coats.

The Chore Coat has been an enduring garment beloved by our customers. Our version incorporates a few vintage tweaks picked up from garments produced in the early twentieth century.

The cuffs feature a faced opening backed with Hickory stripe cotton, the same striped fabric is used to back the collar and for the large internal left chest pocket. The cuffs are easily rolled back and don't look like a business shirt when they're done up. We've made the collar more comfortable by removing the stand, so it fits neatly without making you feel confined. This also makes them easier to layer garments underneath.

The chest pockets are a combination more often seen on coveralls, one with a secure flap, the other with a split front opening for tucking away small items (ear buds) and a pen holder pocket incorporated along one side.

This coat is constructed using twin needle vintage Union Special feed off the arm machines with fully enclosed, flat felled seams.

The red denim selvedge  has been incorporated  into each jacket and can be seen on the inside front.

Our chore coat is constructed using an 11oz vintage textured selvedge organic denim from Kuroki Mills. Kuroki Mills have been making textiles since the Edo Period, 1700s!

The final touch to the styles we created together is the application of THE BOROUGHS + NAMA DENIM cloth tags. These were designed by Ruby MacKinnon inspired 1940's Carhartt labels. We were able to print small batches of the labels, to cut wastage, at Das Automat right here in Melbourne.

Every garment Vishesh and the Nama team make is produced in their Bangkok studio, from the patterns right through to the finished products.
