We decided to re release a small batch of our denim wider straight leg jean or as we like to call them Dungarees, to pay homage to the cross over from The Boroughs Store to W.P.S.C. Ahoy!
Dungarees are the essence of simplicity and function, the very reason why workwear is so appealing.
Their shape is genderless, as they constructed without darts and feature a full straight leg shape. They really do fit and flatter a variety of shapes.
They feature generous slant pockets on front and two large patch pockets on the back. These are pure workwear details, there are no jeans references here. The back seam features triple stitching for extra durability and authenticity. Pockets are lined with strong Hickory stripe cotton
All throughout our dungarees are constructed using twin needle vintage Union Special feed off the arm machines with fully enclosed, flat felled seams.
The red denim selvedge has been incorporated and can be seen down the outside seam of each leg.
Our dungarees are constructed using an 11oz vintage textured selvedge organic denim from Kuroki Mills. Kuroki Mills have been making textiles since the Edo Period, 1700s!
The final touch to the styles we created together is the application of THE BOROUGHS + NAMA DENIM cloth tags. These were designed by Ruby MacKinnon inspired 1940's Carhartt labels. We were able to print small batches of the labels, to cut wastage, at Das Automat right here in Melbourne.
Every garment Vishesh and the Nama team make is produced in their Bangkok studio, from the patterns right through to the finished products.
